Tamas. Three Gunas Rule the world.
Damaru in his left hand represents the Sabda Brahman.
Ganga flowing out of Shivas Jata represents - Jnana Ganga - Nectar of
wisdom one which purifies and brings immortality.
Crescent moon on Shivas head represents the - mind. Mind is the
ornament for Shiva (Tormentor for Jiva).
Shiva wears the elephat skin - Elephant represents vritti - ego/
thoughts. Shiva has mastered these.
Shiva is sitting on tiger skin - Tiger skin represnts animal
tendencies. Shiva has conquered these.
Shiva holds deer in one hand. - Deer represents the chanchalata -
restless mind. Shiva has controlled the restlessness of mind.
Shiva is white in colour - representing simplicity, purity.
Vibhuti represents - 3 vasanas to be burnt - Loka vasana, deha
vasana, shastra vasana representing the three Granthis - Brahma,
vishnu, rudra granthis.
It also represents burning of three illusions - karmamala, mayiya
mala, anava mala
Balipeetha infront of Shiva represents - sacrificial alter where we
have to sacrifice the ego.
Bull - Nandi -vehicle of Shiva represents the Dharma.
